Since last we left our intrepid librarian …

It’s been almost a year since I last blogged!  It’s safe to say the time since my last post has been a total whirlwind – a lot has happened, but here are the highlights:

I graduated with a Graduate Diploma of Information Science (Library and Information Practice) with some of my favourite people from my library course, I managed to snag a full-time ongoing position in an Academic Library and I’ve started working on the ALIA PD Scheme.

New librarians!

In addition to all that, I’ve continued my work with the ALIA Students and New Graduates Group, moving from the blog team to the Qld Coordination team, and I’ve been studying very part time to articulate my Graduate Diploma to a Masters with CSU.

Now that I’m ‘settling’ into professional library life, I intend to post on this blog more often to share what I’m up to.  I am more passionate that ever about life-long learning (there is still so much I want to know about GLAMR and librarianship and other related things!) and now that I’m a little more removed from the classroom environment than I was when I was studying on-campus for my Graduate Diploma, I’m keen to get back into Twitter and blogging as a way to connect with other GLAMR folk, grow my professional networks and continue learning.

I have a few blogs I drafted during my blogging hiatus, so I’ll keep the momentum going by tidying them up and posting them over the coming weeks.
